For my money, Cigarette Burns (directed by John Carpenter) was one of the best episodes of @mickgarris.bsky.social's Masters of Horror. RIP UDO.

Udo Kier has passed away at 81. A singular screen presence, Kier had a long history in the horror genre, starring in films including Mark of the Devil, Andy Warhol's Frankenstein, Blood for Dracula, Blade, Feardotcom, Rob Zombie's Halloween, and Dario Argento's Mother of Tears.

How did I never know of this 2016 masterwork? THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM is a wonderful, brutal, visually sumptuous British film, available on Shudder, that is stunningly directed by Juan Carlos Medina. Great performances, powerful screenplay, and superlative visuals and production values on every level.
