The Gremlin battled, but I was able to get her down for a nap this afternoon, and I needed it. She deserves 100% of my attention, but when it physically hurts to just simply move, it's hard to continue entertaining the whims of a toddler. Hopefully the back half of today is a little more easy.

My folks surprised me last week with a summer sausage, a couple of blocks of cheese, and triscuits and chicken in a biscuit crackers, so I legit think that's the extent of my plan for the big "new years eve" tomorrow. Hey, you could do worse than a little snack assortment tray, TBH.

People who are fans of Stranger Things are hit or miss, but it's really insane how at one point, that show was such a cultural juggernaut. A licencing company I worked for couldn't acquire it, but our sales for Ghostbusters and Eggo Waffles merch all surged, just from the Stranger Things effect.

So I know that everything generally sucks these days, but does anyone else just feel perpetually pissy? Like I feel as if I've been in a neverending bad mood, and everything seems to get on my nerves anymore. I hate being so negative, but I'm just tired and pissy all of the time.

It's awfully windy outside today. If I had to guess, I'm thinking at some point the internet will be out today. Time to dust off the VCR for later (although no joke, I've been meaning to take ours apart and thoroughly clean the tape heads).

Our house is still sort of a disaster post-xmas, but I've slowly been working to get it back to some form of previous semblance.

I sliced my finger open on a damn coffee can liner while cleaning up in the kitchen, and although I put a bandage on it, and told Victoria (AKA the Gremlin) I had a "boo-boo" and to leave it alone, she keeps trying to bite it, bloody bandage and all. She may or may not be a vampire.

For Xmas my wife surprised me with a gift card for her Nintendo Switch. I've never really played it, but last night I decided to look around on the Nintendo e-store, and good lord do I struggle with its controller (and this is a dude who easily mastered the N64 controller of chaos).

An old friend of mine from highschool said she didn't like Sinners (2025), and not to get my hopes up, but she also strongly recommended Poolhall Junkies (2002) to me back in the day, and that was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.

Apparently Sinners is now free to stream on Prime Video (my wife gets it free through her job). I still haven't seen this one, so will have to finally give it a go tonight after much anticipation, after the Gremlin goes to bed.

My wife is back into work today, having picked up an OT shift offered, so my goal today besides watching the Gremlin of course, is to try to clean this house back to some former semblance of itself, before the holidays struck. There's still literally toys and such everywhere.
