Covid is STILL circulating & causing harm to our brains, hearts, kidneys, etc. The vax- though imp't for reducing severity of acute illness- does NOT prevent infection, transmission, or the long-term damage done by this virus. Btw, asymptomatic cases (~half!) ARE contagious & also cause damage.

I sincerely appreciate Alt CDC (& all altgov accounts), but a lot of good people- including scientists & healthcare providers- have bought into the false claim that covid is nbd, esp. if you're vaxxed, despite science showing us that's not true. The cognitive dissonance is absolutely maddening.

As a covid realist who's been masking/taking precautions to keep my family from getting covid over the past 5+ yrs, I'm legitimately hopeful abt the potential for this to make a difference.

Everyone still taking covid precautions must be a Gemini, bc this feels so 🎯. Don't get me wrong- we CAN go out & do things masked, but when we get harassed/pathologized for protecting ourselves, sometimes staying home is easier. Even mild C19 can cause long-term damage to previously healthy people.

Dems keep cautioning against fighting back in any way that would "give Trump an excuse to institute martial law." Sure seems to me he's doing it whether we "give him an excuse" or not.
