A more affluent relative gifted me some money recently with the instructions that I go to a museum & dinner. I had never had dosas & a nearby restaurant had them on the menu. I have been waiting a year to go. Yum. It was served with two chutneys & a bowl of lentil soup. The soup was amazing.

A bit tangential. My favorite lentil-based breakfast was a Middle Eastern soup I would get in Detroit on W. Warren Ave made of red lentils & vegetables & pureed. In the morning, it was thin. If you got there later in the day, it had cooked down & was thicker & even better. Adas, perhaps?

I grew up kinda food insecure & on top of that food restricted bc I was a chunky kid. Just before I was diagnosed with cancer, I had gotten down to my lowest weight since my lowest high school weight & I looked at my husband, who met me at my peak weight, & he was fully on board with "Eat everything

I'm sorry that if it offends some that I believe no matter how you are exchanging the hours of your body as work for pay, it is all getting the bills paid. It all takes a toll differently.

I know it has been many years since I was married to the one who did helicopter maintenance in the service. However, I remember the stories he told me about altered maintenance logs due to missing parts to do the correct maintenance or lack of time. I can't imagine with supply chain issues
