the hedgehog nods shyly and offers the cookies out. she smiles, a genuine smile, and spoke in a quiet tone. "I'm very sorry your day isn't going so well. take as many cookies as you would like. I hope they help make you feel better."

they are a bit burned but still taste good. charlotte is notorious for burning her cookies, so this is a huge improvement. "of course! you can have some."
