There's no reason to establish tough on crime bona fides. It's irrelevant to what's happening. Trump would do this if there were zero murders in DC. It has nothing to do with crime. The end game for this stunt is to increase disorder and crime and use that to implement further crackdowns.

It’s amusing to a certain type of person anecdotes regarding crime supersede the need for actual data. Here’s a fun anecdote I grew up in the middle of the woods in NEPA and a few properties down my neighbor brutally murdered two people trying to break into his house.
