1/2 A privilege to join the awareness walk of Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims (KRCT) during the #16Daysof Activism Against Gender-Based Violence: an empowering expression of respect and support for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence in Kosovo.

They highlighted challenges such as misogynistic attacks, lack of support rooted in patriarchal norms & gaps in protection. All agreed: hate speech must be recognized, reported & addressed. EULEX remains committed to supporting institutions to protect women in public life.

Interesting & important presentation by BIRN Network of the #DigitalRights Violation Annual Report co-funded by #EU. In line with #EULEX findings, the report highlights the need for a legal framework in Kosovo to address tech-facilitated harm such as online harassment & child sexual abuse material

💪 🇵🇱 Welcome to our Formed Police Unit's XXXVIII rotation! Today, the #EULEX Head of Mission Giovanni Pietro Barbano presided over the welcome ceremony for the 105 Polish Police men & women deployed to EULEX FPU to support 🇽🇰 stability & contribute to the security of all communities.

Our thoughts are with his family & loved ones, who mourn this tragic loss. Their & our grief is exacerbated by the fact that this crime remains unresolved: whoever took Audrius’ life has not yet been held to account. We will never stop pursuing justice!

EULEX DHoM & Chief Prosecutor of Basic Prosecution of Peja met and discussed challenges & achievements of the Prosecution Office. Of particular interest is the work of the Basic Prosecution on teaching school children about their human rights.

Welcomed by the Head of Mission, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, the HR/VP met with EULEX’s management team, addressed Mission Members and received a briefing on the Mission mandate, work and activities.

Had the pleasure to meet with President of Pristina Basic Court Albina Shabani Rama, discussing the challenges faced by the Court, with the shared goal to enhance judges' capacity & ensure effective management of cases & court rooms. 1/2

The Women, Peace & Security Agenda is a key tool to ensure that women & and girls' rights are observed & upheld, securing equal participation of women to strengthen democracy & promote peace. Supporting the KP’s Women Association is an effective way through which EULEX is implementing it.

#EULEX delivered its latest⚖️Justice Monitoring Report in Braille to the Kosovo Association of the Blind, highlighting its commitment to ensure everyone has equal access to justice & justice-related information and participates in discussions on the rule of law in Kosovo.

Aside from exchanging best practices&ideas, workshops foster teamwork. An example is the workshop organised by EULEX on diversion measures for juveniles which, when correctly applied, minimise negative effects of formal judicial proceedings.

Remembering the almost 1,600 persons still reported missing, related to the Kosovo conflict - out of them, 129 children, we reiterate that missing persons’ families have the right to know the truth about the fate of their loved ones.
