Stories of missing persons are as important as ever. Impartial & independent media with strong alliances play an essential role in the search for the missing through truthful reporting and relentlessly advocating for people to share any information that might help with the authorities.

Ahead of the International Day of Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Kosovo institutions, civil society and international organizations recalled the importance of shedding light on the fate of the around 1,595 missing persons related to the Kosovo conflict.

🎓 Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming 13 enthusiastic students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill visiting EULEX and Kosovo as part of their study program focused on the role of international organizations in peace building.

The EULEX Head, Giovanni Pietro Barbano hosted today a high-level 🇱🇹Lithuanian delegation led by the Minister of the Interior Vladislav Kondratovič. They exchanged notes on the security challenges in Kosovo and the role of the Mission in supporting stability and the rule of law.

We concluded the joint exercise Golden Sabre w/ NATO-led KFOR mission & the Kosovo Police. We coordinate & train together to test our readiness & strengthen coop to implement joint crowd & riot control procedures, to be ready to support Kosovo stability & contribute to all communities' safety.

EULEX Correctional Unit facilitated a working group for the Kosovo Correctional Service on the drafting of Internal Rules on Treatment of Juveniles in compliance with the Juvenile Justice Code, which will guide KCS in the execution of educational measures&juvenile imprisonment.

A pleasure to host a delegation from the 🇸🇪 Police Authority! Welcomed by the #EULEX DHoM, they received briefings by Senior Mission Members on EULEX’s work. The Delegation also visited Northern Kosovo and were briefed by EULEX Police Advisors North.

Welcomed by the Head of Mission, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, the HR/VP met with EULEX’s management team, addressed Mission Members and received a briefing on the Mission mandate, work and activities.

While talking about juvenile cases and the importance of taking into consideration the best interest of the child at all stages, I informed the President about #EULEX's focus on such cases, including on cases of sexual abuse of children.

At a roundtable discussion on domestic violence, #EULEX & OSCE Mission in Kosovo met with members from Graçanicë/Gračanica Municipal Community Safety Council. We reaffirmed our shared goal to support Kosovo institutions & society in strengthening prevention & prosecution of cases of GBV.

In April & May, during 4 EULEX-organized workshops, ≈ 100 participants from 🇽🇰rule of law institutions discussed, practical ways to enhance non-custodial measures as effective, humane, & cost-efficient response to crime, 4 restorative justice & convicted persons' reintegration.
