Reflecting on a rough start of the week: Preparing to teach Arnstein's ladder of participation required more mental/emotional prep than I allocated for myself. Also it's hard to talk about non participation, tokenism, and power without multiple specific incidents coming to mind as I lecture...

TFW you realize as the token WOC in two departments that you are 50/50 in... If you don't 100% participate in department meetings etc you get only 50% representation, which means either you burn out by having to perform at 150-200% or you can't advance anything in either department. FML
