i bought a used pixel from ebay and installed grapheneOS on it and it works like a dream. mine is a Pixel 8, which will be supported by graphene until 2030, their website has a section about this u can read to help u decide on a model :3 grapheneos.org/faq#device-l...

TLDR: Gael Duval head of Murena and /e/OS partner of Fairphone declared privacy/security maximalists using 'hardened' OS/tools are paedophiles. We pointed this & it's obvious PR grade targeting of us out. People focused on the latter over the former because...? Reasons.

GrapheneOS is very compatible with apps. Out of the box you have the most private and locked down experience. I found that I've been able to get everything working the same just by tweaking settings and permissions. Bank apps, etc work, and I have RCS w/ AT&T, stuff ppl say doesn't work.

Gaël Duval is the founder and president of the /e/ foundation along with the CEO of Murena. Duval and his organizations have consistently taken a stance against protecting users from exploits. In this video, he once again claims protecting against exploits is for only useful pedophiles and spies.

Anyway, unlike CalyxOS and /e/OS, GrapheneOS actually cares and gives a shit about privacy and security.

on GrapheneOS, Play Services are unprivileged, and permissions are user modifiable like any other app. you can opt to disable Play Services location access if you want to.

GrapheneOS regularly fixes issues in Android disclosed by Project Zero after their 90 day deadline expires. We have fixes for multiple security weaknesses found by Project Zero which are unresolved in Android. GrapheneOS actually benefits more from Google's Project Zero than upstream Android.
