Just found out that my writing has been recognised at the 16th Annual Occult Detective Awards. Featured as part of the ‘stand out authors’ in the Best Anthology category (Occult Detective Magazine #11) it relates to my novelette, A Strange Case of Something Familiar.

I remember, ten years ago, those with ‘experience’ telling me that my Beatrice Beecham series was too ‘old school’ and that no one wanted goofy supernatural horror anymore. Then, along came Stranger Things. Who knew?

Well, I’m not one for writing with the intention of being nominated for awards; “that’s a long wait for a train don’t come”, as the adage goes. My surprise, then, when three of my pieces of work were finalists in separate prestigious literary events this year. Y’couldn’t make it up.
