#MathsToday we are hopefully going to run L2 FM again from September. Haven't done it since the new spec. Is there a doc somewhere that lists the parts that are just in FM and which are in the standard GCSE? Could go through spec myself but hoping I don't need to. Also, much change from old spec?

#MathsToday #ALevelMaths Any Edexcel A level markers, please advise. In a mechanics paper, if the answer is 1.2 and they write 6/5 as their final answer, will they get the marks or does it have to be a decimal. Would it be different if it was pure?

#AlevelMaths Can anyone who marks Edexcel A level maths confirm whether if a student can't answer part a so makes up an answer which they then use in part b that they will be able to pick up method marks.

In #AlevelMaths #MathsToday a student asked me if they could be asked to prove the double angle formulae. The spec says "understand geometrical proofs of these formulae" so is that prove them or just be able to follow a proof and maybe spot a mistake? Have there been any questions in the past on it?

#MathsToday we have a visually impaired student who uses an ipad. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the calculator on an ipad to give exact answers in terms of pi or as surds or fractions rather than decimals?

In #MathsToday a y10 student got very excited cos there was a man on a mini digger working outside. I pointed out that he wasn't 4 so should be past the excitement of seeing different vehicles. His response, but Miss it's a mini digger!! We had to close the blinds 🤦 I didn't share his excitement!!

I’ve just got home for a meal out. There was music playing. One song was let it snow, we decided it wasn’t specifically for Christmas just wintery so let it go. Then Rocking around the Christmas Tree came on. It is still September!! Too early!!

In #MathsToday I hit a new level. It was our y6 open evening, I spoke to one of the students and turns out I taught her dad 😱 I used to ask students about siblings, looks like I’ve now hit the parents level 😬

@EdexcelMaths with this updated guidance from JCQ please can you not schedule GCSE Nov exams 48 hours apart as it gives us no time to discuss topics with the students before the next exam
