Mom hyped me and my book up to a white woman at the airport. The woman clutched a book in her arm tight and asked the title of mine. When I told her CRUZITA AND THE MARIACHEROS, she laughed and said: “Oh that [title], I think I’ll pass.” And I wonder how many others do, even when they shouldn’t.

Went to pick up some Doc Marten’s from a FB seller’s house. Her elderly parents handled the transaction, and the gentleman was like: “are these shoes for you?” And I said “yup,” to which he said “now you get to be a whole inch taller” 🥲

Why is it that despite throwing away a bunch of stuff, my closet is still bursting at the seams? I haven’t even put anything *new* in it 😭 Also, this is what I choose to do instead of writing. A worthy punishment for my procrastination.
