An attorney general who devotes the department’s power to settling the president’s personal scores cannot be depended upon to upholding the law. The Senate must reject his nomination

He organized the effort to investigate and punish the people who once held Trump accountable. He assigned those investigations to his own deputies so he could keep tight control.

The attorney general is supposed to represent the United States, not one man’s interests. Newly released emails show Blanche managing Trump’s retribution campaign from inside the Justice Department.

Blanche led Donald Trump’s criminal defense team. He has an attorney client relationship with the president. That bond does not disappear when he puts on a Justice Department badge.
