Zohran won Ozone Park 2-to-1 last year. NYC-DSA candidates continued that success on Tuesday. Claire won it 46-32, while David Orkin held incumbent Jenifer Rajkumar to a 45-55 win. Both Claire and David hit 50% in the most Bangladeshi precinct; David actually got more raw votes.

We did it! @mayor.nyc.gov’s Rent Guidelines Board just voted to FREEZE THE RENT for two million New Yorkers in rent-stabilized apartments. This is a huge victory for tenants across our city, including in Astoria and Long Island City. Democratic socialists deliver for working people.

Thrilled to see PSC Executive Council member Dr. Susan Kang appointed by @mayor.nyc.gov to the Commission on Government Efficiency. Dr. Kang’s decades-long impact on helping to lead political reforms in New York and her academic credentials make her an excellent choice for COGE.

This was my first budget, and I was deeply frustrated, and frankly shocked, by just how undemocratic the negotiation process was. Hochul dragged out the budget as long as possible to wear down the legislature. But we refuse to give up, and will continue fighting to tax the rich!

Today, I voted NO on Hochul's revenue budget bill that failed to sufficiently tax the rich or protect New Yorkers from federal cuts. The pied-à-terre tax that our movement won is a start, but it is not enough. The fight for dignity and justice for working New Yorkers continues.
