AADvent Day 1: Strong Leadership & Volunteers In 2025, AAD elected new leadership, added key roles, and welcomed youth voices—building a stronger, more energized team. Paired with dedicated volunteers, this collaboration fueled real momentum and set AAD up for success in 2026. Happy New Year!

Day 2: Election Night Victories 🎉 AAD celebrated exciting wins for Justin Hollinrake, Jeff Schumacher, and Roxanne Petersen. These victories capped months of organizing, visibility, and community engagement—and energized Democrats across Ankeny as we head into the next cycle.

Day 3: Neighbor 2 Neighbor Improvements AAD strengthened its largest organizing program. A dedicated core team built capacity, added leadership roles, and welcomed new block leaders. Improved processes expanded reach, supported volunteers, and connected Dems across Ankeny as we build toward 2026.

Day 4: Highly Successful AAD Summer BBQ Our biggest event of the year! Nearly 200 attendees, 11 speakers, a successful catered meal, and an indoor venue beat the July heat. Funds raised strengthened AAD’s budget. Save the date for the next one: July 11, 2026!

Day 5: Volunteer Appreciation Instead of a traditional November meeting, AAD honored our volunteers and their incredible work all election cycle—stuffing bags, installing yard signs, texting, phone banking, donating, lit drops, and more. Gratitude, teamwork, and community were front and center.

Day 7: Voter Outreach & Rallies AAD stayed visible all year with voter registration at Ankeny Pride and the Farmers Market. We also showed up on Delaware Ave for rallies: opposing harmful budget cuts, honoring John Lewis with “good trouble,” and the October No Kings rally with ~500 attendees.
