I'm so glad I'm not a teenager in this day and age. As bad as the early 2000s were on our collective body image, social media has made it worse. Now they are circling back to "2000 skinny" but they've added the pressure to self-optimize and videos that tell you water kills you.

When you hear someone say "In the original version of this German fairytale..." you can almost certainly disregard the rest of that sentance. Those are stories that had been orally passed down for a while before the brothers Grimm wrote them down and edited them. 1/2

"The PS3 had no good games" The PS3 had a port of "Lost Dimension" and that alone endears it to me. The gameplay loop of that game is so much fun that I willfully will ignore every other flaw the game AND the console had. (it also had my favorite "Tales of" Games in the series)

Clair Obscure is a rewarding game to get good at. I find myself landing more parries and perfect dodges the more I fight. It also looks beautiful and the characters and dynamics are compelling! That being said, it's mini games and parcour elements are the bane of my existance.

Watched Karate Kid Legends on a whim today without ever having seen any of the previous films. It STILL filled me with so many fluffy feelings, I cannot stop smiling. A classic underdog sport movie story. It wasn't reinventing the wheel but it didn't need to.

If you like comedic manga and magical girls, do yourself a favor and read "Magical Girl Incident". It only has 3 volumes total, so it's a quick read. It's hilarious if you know the genre (superheroes also works btw) but also has a surprising amount of heart. It's honestly a new favorite of mine.

As a woman who has never, doesn't and will never want a child and is fed up with how motherhood is depicted as the be all end all of happiness in media, DW's recent finale made me sick to my stomach. It also was a ludicrous and unfitting ending to the characters involved. Fucking hell.

I do not, for the life of me, see the appeal S*l* L*v*ling has. Beyond how it looks. "Man with black hair gets progressively stronger and basically becomes a god" is so tired it works better putting me to sleep than my pills.

I've been back home for two days and my first day back to work is a 7 hour strategy session with our whole team. Which has me get up at four in the morning. Great. Now I'm glad I didn't get any jetlag.

I'll be on my first flight in 15 years on Thursday. And my first overnight flight as well. The longest I've flown was 2-3 hours and now it's 12. I'm excited but also super nervous.

After three and a half years, our second campaign has run it's 30th and last session. A month of rest, followed by three months of one-offs DMed by my players and then campaign 3 is a go.

I'm done. I'm free. Every last character that actually appears for longer than a scene is drawn. Now my brain will let me move on. Fun fact, this design is based on a 20 year IC, but updated to my modern style sensibilities.

Went to a public karaoke party by myself today. I even gathered the courage to sing a song on stage. It was surreal and I can still feel my heart in my throat, but the vibe was amazing and the crowd cheered and whistled for everybody no matter the skill level. It was a good time!

DDBA vastly overestimates how interesting Fisk is. I'm only on episode 5 and I'm already ~done~ with him having almost as much screentime as Matt. I can do without the 1000st time of him flirting with his wofe, eating or mumblingly threatenkng someone.

At this point, the only new shows I'll watch are limited series I KNOW have a definitive ending. I want to see a full creative vision and not either a first chapter or a long, drawn out shell of what once was a good show. It'll hurt me less.

I had no way of getting to the US so close to another big vacation I have planned for years, but it warms my heart to see my friends and mutuals having so much fun sharing their love for a D&D stream IRL. Hopefully, I can join you all at a Con in the future!

Was forced to work from home for the last three days and I can honestly say I hate the feeling. I need to take a long walk after I log off so I can have the feeling of arriving at home and mentally checking out. Sure, it's convinient, but it makes it harder to relax in my own home.
