I don't consider myself a superstitious person. No shade to those who do, but I don't believe in innate luck, curses, predestination, supernatural karma, or fate... But god damn if TTRPG scheduling when I'm not GMing doesn't do its level best to try and convince me otherwise.

I haven't been animating as much as I'd like to lately. I should fix that. That said, have a WIP of Hakuri as a little treat. (My other favorite Kagurabachi character.)

I tell ya, reading a book about Nazi Germany doesn't exactly dissuade one from making comparisons to current events and the current regime. Especially when, at one point, it also offhandedly mentions Minneapolis and the rounding up of thousands of Japanese Americans in the same paragraph.

Believe it or not, the 1 lb gummy Krabby Patty was, in fact, detrimental to one's health. Got a bout 25-30% of the way through, felt a stomachache coming on, decided to call it quits. Don't need to commit to the bit *that* hard.

Shift today started out with an all-store meeting telling us: "ICE is not allowed in the store. We can't stop them from being in the parking lot, but tell a team lead immediately if you see them at all so we can keep people safe."

So, I picked up some lockpicking supplies with a bit of Christmas money (seems like a neat hobby to get into, and would be a useful niche skill to have in the back pocket). Also got a padlock to practice on. I... don't know if I'm confident in the security of this Masterlock...

Well, Happy New Year from the midwest! Sincerely hoping this one's better for a lot of people. Personally, I'd like to try and branch out a bit. Expand my skill repertoire, try new things, perhaps make an effort to be a bit more engaged in the online communities I'm in. Best of luck, everyone.

I am so goddamm ready to no longer be in the holiday season at work. Last two months of the year are easily the worst time of the year to be working food retail. Massive freight volume, huge crowds that love to jump into your path when you're pulling a heavy pallet and try to get run over.

Important update: Made the Baja Blast pie The verdict: Has potential, but had to substitute key lime juice for a different lime juice, which gave this one an odd flavor. Planning to try again soon.

With all the posts I've been seeing about PayPal, I should probably start making my invoices more vague. Normally, I'd give an itemized cost breakdown to be straightforward and transparent about what folks are paying for and include a little "Thanks for commissioning!" note, but now (1/3)

Waited a few weeks to avoid jumping the gun on declaring victory. Naturally, the issue happened again literally the next day... The timing is... impeccable.

Some positive news to balance out the last couple posts: I've been having this odd issue with my new PC for almost as long as I've had it, but now that a few weeks have passed since trying to fix it, I think I can semi-confidently say the fix worked! (Full description of the issue in the alt text)

So yeah, about that 'getting back into the swing of things'. Happens more often than I'd like.

This past week has been... tiring. Dealing with some personal life stuff that's supplied a fair bit of stress, leaving me pretty wiped with little energy left over to put into things I want to do. It's like I was running at a nice pace, then got tripped and had the wind knocked out of me.

Some thoughts on Ch 100 of Kagurabachi because I like the direction Hokazono went with the latest plot development and wanted to talk about it. [BIG SPOILERS for the manga! I'd really recommend reading it for yourself first! It's good!]

Cancelled my Toon Boom subscription for now to try and save some money. I'll probably pick it back up eventually once things stabilize, but for now I'll just have to stick with CSP for animating.

Had a dumb idea for a Stormlight-themed sticker, so naturally I had to follow through.
