it’s really important for game music to be in sync with the player’s own energy, the music needs to pace itself and slow down a bit and having contrast helps make the player not feel overwhelmed. it sounds so stupid laid out but you work with games long enough and its the only thing you think about!

A little neat tip for the music-makers… if it doesn’t derail your creative flow too much, I will always recommend “pre-mixing” your songs as you write/produce them. Honestly, sometimes that extra bit of “polish” & space between your tracks is the difference between an idea clicking or not! (cont.)
