Stuck in Eastleigh because of train delays and the combo of cheap eats and a cheap sleep just over the road is becoming more and more appealing.

Re this: I feel Lost Records has got a bit lost as the year has progressed, but I really liked it. Very strong in its first half, particularly. It's not ripping up any rule books but the dual era approach to its storytelling worked for me.

Great account/blog, a must for likers of old/obscure games.

Just looking at some performance stats for a significant video game (million+ sales) of the last 12 months, and it clearly shows that reviews of the game (it scored meta 80+) WERE significant in people's purchase decision. So for those still saying game reviews don't matter... you're wrong.

Predator Badlands looks great. Pissbabies whining about it being a 12A will not be missed when I take my kids to see it at the cinema.

Growing up (and now, really), many of my parents' best friends would be known by me as uncle or auntie. This is/was normal. I know this shit is bait, but it's bait I fall for. And each to their own, but listen, motherfucker, if you are putting Alien 3 8th on a list of 10 Alien movies and TV shows, beneath Covenant, Resurrection, and Prometheus, you need to go watch that movie again. Or, not base your take on Wikipedia.

This C64 beauty gets a mention in my book of next year, too (cos it sure wears that Alien influence), albeit not to the detail of Alexander's excellent coverage in this terrific book.

I get why band who are already doing a London show don't bother with Brighton. It's not *that* far, right? Folks can travel. And some may, but I can't be doing with racing across the capital to make my last train, missing the encore to do so, spending £££s more on top of everything else.
