Spring Migration Series The annual spring migration is peaking and night skies are filling with hundreds of species flying to breeding grounds. Warblers are tiny but many species cover thousands of kilometres. I'll feature the 12 most common species banded at Prince Edward Pt Bird Observatory.

A nice part of showing work in a public gallery is the school groups that come in to see the art. It was a treat to talk about making art and answer questions with kids from different schools. This week I chatted with two groups from the Adventures program. So much energy!!

After working for decades as an assignment illustrator, I'm moving away from digital production and towards traditional mediums - painting, woodworking, and printmaking. Spending more time in front of a canvas or shaping things with my hands is something that I find liberating - check it out!

On the easel I’ve been working on two large paintings over the holidays, involving 18 separate panels and nine species of owls. Getting everything to work in harmony takes time and effort. Happy to see this painting emerge from darkness. This is part of an upcoming show (March opening)
