#showmeyourknits I'm at that point where I want to grab some googly eyes and a couple of pink tongues! These are knitting up so quickly for a ribbed sock and they are so thick, great for winter house socks. Not sure I can get dress boots on with them, maybe hiking boots.

Not been fan of Argos (UK retailer) for ages. Just got too £££'s & customer service lacking. Roll on 15+ years and they had best deal for new washing machine. Price-matched, but included delivery & recycle (=decent saving). Chaps arrived at 7am & unexpectedly fitted the new one! Get in!!

I've got this far with the freestyle jumper with disliked yarn. Just got to think about the bottom half of the body. I've got about 150g yarn left, so plenty to play with. Provisional neck cast on so I can play with that.

Bit cheesed off atm, but you live & learn. Bought some yarn prob 3yrs ago & it's been on a shelf as I didn't like it that much - used some for another project & realised it doesn't wash well. Just decided to freestyle a jumper only either the yarn is poor, or moths have been at it 😒 #knitting

The socks got completely frogged, now at the heel. I couldn't rest with the 3mm needle. This pattern suggested a 2.75mm but I couldn't find one, so 2.5mm it is! Yes, the lacework is a little tight but a previous pair was a little loose on. Not much of the brown left. #knitting

Is it bad to be planning my next #knitting project before finishing the last half-dozen (or more)? I had a sudden moment of inspiration over 400g of DK yarn I don't like. I think I'm now getting more of a 'feel' for the fabric I'm making, so becoming far less reliant on patterns 😁

My sock #knitting mistake isn't working out too badly. I decided to add a pattern & will go down a needle size after the 1st repeat & again after the 2nd, to get to the foot and correct needle size, creating a leg taper at the same time.

OK, it's not Wednesday but here is one of my #WIP #knitting. I'm doing sleeves next so I can better judge yarn and body length. You can't see the pattern properly, which is just as well as I didn't read the instructions properly!

#knitting #crochet some time ago I posted a top that I decided I didn't like with way the yarn pooled then striped, so I frogged it and made a crochet t-shirt. The short sleeves didn't work, so I frogged them and made.... yep, socks. Absolutely love the micro stripe effect. 2 sleeves =2 socks!

#sewandtell recently made pj's in broderie anglaise. I haven't done a 100% bias binding on a garment since my school days. Pleased how this went. I mainly use facings or linings. Another skill ticked off the list!

Fabric shop. Me: wide leg trousers, 1.1m should be enough (1.4m wide fabric)? Them: usually 2xleg length Me: Hmm, give me 1.5m to be safe Them: are you sure? Hubs: just get more, cheapskate So, trousers done. 1.1m so I've made a waistcoat out of the remaining 40cm & some leftover fabric from stash 😁

I've just bought a new laptop - how the FFFF do I get Microsoft Edge off the bloody thing? I thought monopolising was a thing of the past. Every time I try to bypass, Edge totally blocks me. This is getting very trying. I may be sending the flippin thing back...

At what point should you get involved (in anything, generally)? Today I walked along the riverside of a pretty ordinary city. A man staggers in our direction with something on his shoulder and his trousers, well frankly, making a bid for freedom. Easy to blame substances, but what if it was medical?

My son came home from work early yesterday, as did the workers of much of the industrial estate. Power cut? Gas leak? No, a handful of facists due to demonstrate outside a hotel at the entrance to the estate. All that production lost. Orders not fulfilled. Possibly even contracts going abroad....

I have so much 🧶 I have to wonder if I should open an occasional shop. I live in a village - and affulent village - so buying yarns & selling some of them would help scratch the 'I must buy this yarn, it's so scrummy' itch without it costing so much! Also, on another note, I have moths 😱

🧶thoughts anyone? I have a lot of lightweight Latvian wool I don't know what do with. I was drawn to its rustic colours. I have over 600g and could hold it double. I originally had an outdoor jumper in mind. Now not sure.
