#knitting 1st sleeve done. It's interesting how lace opens up when blocked. The body hem has been blocked but the sleeve hem hasn't yet. The wrist needs a little elastic put in too to make it a bit puffy. Happy so far, but am hoping it all grows a wee bit as I've put on a little bit of weight 😆

Seems that Starmer, the EU leaders and Scandinavians will not be able to walk the tightrope for much longer. I feel really bad for 1. Greenlanders and 2. ordinary workers who will end up losing their jobs due to the US tariffs. Can't imagine ordinary UK citizens allowing UK govt to support US.

I have got to that age where my youth is dying - Kenny Morris, drummer with Siouxsie and the Banshees is dead. I have no idea where the time has gone. I offer a wry smile when looking at the mosh pit of those bands still gigging (eg The Damned) & realise that most in it are in their 60s & 70s 🤣😱

For the life of me, I don't understand why they are moving the Bayeux Tapestry. To wrap it up and ship it to the UK is so high-risk, it should not be risked. If I want to see such a slendid piece of crafting, I'd go to France & see it. Stop with the vanity projects & preserve the art.

Listening to UK news about limiting screen time for 2yr ods as their language development is being impeded. Erm, I don't think its THEIR screen time, but their parents. The notion that parents will fill that time with meaningful language is not a given. What's that about research and variables???

#knitting Back to the jacket. This will be the first time I've ever sewn a zip into knitting, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Just about time to start on the sleeves. Shame it wasn't ready for this cold snap!

It snowed earlier & harder than forecast here. Needing to drive home in a hybrid was driving the unknown - no gears to chose, heavier etc. Was v happy to travel behind full electrics in many places - great markers! Wiggled a bit on gentle starts on small hills, but car did well (driver helped!)

Off the needles and ready for blocking. Last one of 2025. Atm, perfect size. Yarn is kidsilk haze throughout. From the neck down: 20g black/grey, 20g black/blue, 20g black/green, 20g black/purple from QuackYarns (uk). The rest is plain black commercial yarn. #knitting #showmeyourknits

Is there a weird shartage of 3.5mm circular #knitting needles going on? Three stores I've been in - and none in that size at any length. I know I have at least 3 x 3.5mm here & one is on a WIP, not sure about the other two! I may have to resort to DPs, if I can find those, of course!

Guess who got a yarn bowl for Christmas? #knitting Had made it clear that I don't want a wooden one, so I got a wooden one. Upside is that it's a better colour than previous ones I'd seen. Just a matter of preference. I'd seen a fantastic pottery dragon one. May have to paint this one with dragons!

For the last few weeks, we've been doing up our 2nd bedroom. The whole thing, build in a wardrobe, new flooring, redecorating etc. Son & gf home for 4 days so far. Looks like a bomb went off in there. Hopefully, everything will find it's way into their suitcase on Sat, but I suspect not.

Next year, I have decided, there will be no faffing about with dinner. Today I rolled a turkey breast in hand-made suffing, then wrapped it again in a de-boned chicken (I deboned it). I have made a veggie option, an autistic guest option (katsu curry) and then there's mine to do (fish). Next year?

I've been recovering a chair. Not finished yet as still have the wings to so and backing. Look who's moved in though. I moved it so my dad can be comfy at Xmas...

Resident (junior) NHS England doctors are now on strike for better pay/conditions. Tbh, I find it mind-boggling that they study for 5-7yrs and end up on less pay than a teacher (p/h). I know its a constant argument about which public servant should be paid what - but surely time to sort this out?

I was in 2 minds abt this colorway "Monastic Sunset" when I created it for the #BookOfKells collection. I thought it might get overshadowed by other colorways but I've been pleasantly surprised by how much many of you love it. This recent roving order turned out gorgeously, I think. 🧶 #yarnsky
