It's blue week at #ShowMeYourKnits ! I've done so many knitts in blue, I don't know where to start... but here are some of my particular favourites. 🧶

Just blocking a little baby jacket I made. I designed this a couple of years ago and I just rediscovered my notes and pattern sketch again. I might look at scaling it up so it works for larger sizes. The baby I originally made one for is now almost 2! 🧶🐘 #knitting

A few people have asked me how I go about designing my motifs. Basically I use excel (just as "graph paper") ... but I often have to make the pattern 3 dimensional, so I print sections and adjust them to match up at the points where there are increases. 🧶🐉🦉#knitting

This week's theme for #showmeyourknits is blankets. This one was key in my designing journey as I had to chart stranded motifs within a very limited number of stitches. I learned so much about what works and what doesn't. 🧶

My owl sweater is coming along. Inspired by the old Welsh legend of Blodeuwedd, a woman who was created out of flowers for her husband (who is under a magic curse that he cannot marry a mortal woman), but who betrays him and is turned into an owl as punishment. 🧶 #knitting #owls #blodeuwedd
