Update: the kids wrote some amazing Artemis-themed stuff tonight. Along with, well, aliens. A lot of aliens.

Just watched the loss of signal between Artemis and Earth, and there was such a poignant feeling of the oomph of it when the cameras flipped back to mission control and folks were sitting back.

"I had an overwhelming sense of being moved by the moon...it is a real place, and when we have that perspective and we compare it to our home of the Earth it just reminds us how much we have in common - everything we need the Earth provides, and that is in and of itself somewhat of a miracle."

Tonight is the teen writing program at the public library, and I'm inclined to just have us all work on something moon-inspired. Watching the approach is just amazing.
