Yesterday was Summerstreets and I ended up walking the length of the upper Manhattan portion including this view of the 1 train! My 8 mile walk was incredible, seeing a world where we prioritized people over cars The streets were quieter safer and created incredible spaces for community #photography

My favorite trainset from the parade of trains. The BU Gate cars, built between 1903-1907. These cars are 120 years old and still running today! Being on a train this old is one of the most surreal experiences you can have riding the MTA #trains #photography

First (of many) photo from today's Parade of Trains. The train pictured here is an R11/34 train built around 1949. This is one of the newer trains running, alongside a regular R46 Q which was built between 1975-78. While both are old, only one is considered nostalgic! #trains #photography

I got to hang out around Yankee Stadium today, rode the Low-V's but also stayed to see the train of many colors pull in! Only in New York can you get a view of a nearly 65 year old train running past a massive, modern MLB stadium with hundreds of fans cheering it on. #trains #photography

This is a unique perspective of the M train tracks crossing off road. Normally, elevated tracks follow the path of other roads in the area but here in Ridgewood, you can see how the train tracks split up the homes in the neighborhood. #trains #photography

Forest Ave is a weird stop. Instead of being below a street, you can see it hangs over in somewhat of an awkward way over other homes. It has an exit on to a busy street, but as a result of the stations design it stacks passengers by the street, making the rest of it feel emptier #photography

I wonder if people can fully understand what this station is, or what trains stop here. The entrance is very nondescript, and all the signage is vandalized! I imagine only people in the know would ever encounter this. #trains #photography

An extremely liminal waiting room at Forest Hills, it feels like a space that isn't inside a train station. The bench doesn't face the platform, and I will say this area had a distinct smell. But it was strikingly atmospheric. #trains #photography

The Myrtle Avenue line in Queens is such a unique ride. After the busy Myrtle-Wyckoff, the line gets a lot quieter. As we approach Seneca Avenue, the M goes down a narrow, entirely residential street. A staunch contrast to most streets below an elevated track! #trains #photography

Buses, especially those in the outer boros will constantly be stuck in situations like this. Especially routes like the Q23 which make several turns in the part of its route in Forest Hills. It's a common occurrence that we have to make an effort to improve on. #trains #buses #photography

Posting a throwback again, this shot feels very nostalgic for me. Maybe it's because I have a lot of childhood memories of waiting for the Trenton line here, or it's something with the lighting but this station is just such a cool vibe, I love taking the train from here! #trains #photography

The end of the tracks at Hoboken station. I feel like this is a view you don't see that often it was fascinating to me to see how close the train was to the passengers, to peoples possessions and to the main station walkway itself. Signage of the NYC commuter rail systems within the city itself can be spotty. I've got a couple photos to show this off but here's a good example of an old sign left in neglect at Hunterspoint Avenue. These lightly served stations within the city are often neglected. #trains #photography

The Myrtle-Wyckoff station complex is really unique. This open air gated fence connects the elevated M train platform to the main station house, and the underground L train platform. It is a key connection in the middle of a bustling neighborhood! #trains #photography

Thinking about Cleveland again, the Airport station is so well integrated into Hopkins Airport it even has a runway as you're walking to the station! #trains #photography

Looking at the unique RailLink bus service waiting for passengers at Riverdale. Having walked up to the residential areas from this station, it's a very step sidewalk minimal walk so this bus is very obviously needed and widely used by the community! #trains #photography

Metropolitan Avenue has a very isolated feeling, there's not a lot of light in the immediate platform area besides the station. It can make the space feel dark. When I was younger, it was great because we felt like we had a rare moment of solitude while waiting to leave here. #trains #photography

The Light Rail goes to some really unique areas, like 9th street-Congress in Hoboken. With dense apartments built alongside the light rail service, and a very long elevator that goes above the Palisades to serve Jersey City! It's a really unique station and worth the trip! #trains #photography
