I was expecting to hate the DQ1 remake because it's so simple, how much game can there really be once you remove all the friction and add modern QoL? But I'm pleasantly surprised, they made a beautifully textured, bite-sized adventure. I think it's an even more effective remake than 3.

I played Mega Man X 1 through 4 in recent days and had a blast. Nostalgic and yet still fresh. I love that those games are bite-sized but contain nearly infinite potential for alternate playthroughs. You can dive deep and fully master a title within a few days.

Finished my first game of Civ VII. I enjoyed it quite a lot actually, I think the changes work very well and they finally fixed the series' issue with glacial pacing. I'd say it's at parity (in quality) with how V and VI were at launch. Which I can see is an issue since it's been one year.

1/13 Decided to reflect on my year a bit. 2025 was a strange year for me, with very high highs and very low lows. The biggest and best change was moving from a shared house with family to a small apartment with my husband. We are planning to be here until our old days unless something changes.
