Saw Sammie again today. I only know them from the scar on their back and their eagerness/foolhardiness and they only know me from my black coat and use of the rowing machine (if I’m lacking either Sammie don’t approach). Top pals.

One of our pub regulars found a pigeon with a bad leg and now he’s nursing them back to health. Apparently their talon grip has improved a whole lot since yesterday. He’s called them Al Pidgeno.

I'm putting together a post of indie and self-published SFF by trans and non-binary authors if anyone would like to be added! (If I miss you for the post, I can also add you to my LGBTQIA+ collection!)

One of our pub’s semi-regulars told me about going to France to be a chef. He went into one restaurant and the owner said: “The English can’t cook.” Fella replied: “Yeah? What about Joan of Arc?” Owner gave him the job.

I was stood at my road’s crossing and the green light took so long I started to imagine a trailer for a 90’s Hollywood movie called The Crossing Man and I was already on to the sequel, The Crossing Man: Final Crossing, before the lights changed and I could actually cross.

It’s a testament to Paramount’s integrity that they haven’t done a reboot of Next Generation yet. But it can only be a matter of time.

My personal mantra when it comes to using descriptions in fiction is ‘invite, don’t impose’. A red Georgian townhouse is enough; the reader will pour in their own details from their own experience, the townhouses they’ve seen or even lived in. Your readers’ memories and imaginations are your ally.

Am I the only one who thinks ale is a weird choice of alcohol for the Romulans? They just strike me as a wine drinking sort of culture. Ale drinkers are either vikings or folk music fans on wooly jumpers.
