Thomas Garrett, whose life is recalled by a Delaware statue, was convicted of helping two slaves escape their bondage. We do not remember the jurors that convicted him. The presiding judge was the odious Roger Taney. He is remembered only for his infamy and racism.

Judge Dugan is convicted of a felony: obstructing an ICE agent. I hope she appeals and that the Seventh Circuit tosses this conviction. It does not appear to me that the feds came close to proving their case.

The First Amendment prevents government from using such information against anyone. Not that the theocrats care much. But I'd like to see how any reasonable federal judge would respond to an effort by legislators or other officials not associated with the library to find out who checks out books.

Congressional Democrats proving once again that they have no idea at all how to appeal to the majority of Americans. Cuellar got a pardon, but he's corrupt. The pardon does not change that. There's no way he should be given a leadership role again. In fact, he should be expelled.

Democratic candidates for Congress should unequivocally promise to use all tools the Constitution provides to hold Hegseth, Noem, Bondi, Vance, Patel, Blanche, and every other senior official of the regime accountable.

Members of Congress should be demanding, publicly and loudly, Pete Hegseth's resignation and also should be insisting that he be charged with the crimes that match his alleged behavior. If they do not do this, then the illegal conduct will get worse. And more dangerous. And more deadly.

Pete Hegseth, if he gave such an order, commanded murder. And is therefore a murderer. Noncombatants, even suspected or actual drug smugglers, cannot be summarily executed under American or international law.

Colorado Sen. Faith Winter, who demonstrated courage by publicly admitting her battle with alcoholism, was killed tonight in a car crash on I-25 in Centennial. Winter, 45, was a veteran legislator and, more important, the mother of two children. She was engaged to be married, too. Big loss for CO.
