What a beautiful Saturday! It's meet-your-bike day at the International Institute for nine Earn-A-Bike students on week four of their BWorks class. Back at the shop, we convened week two of Learn-To-Ride for seven soon-to-be riders. We're so grateful to all the teachers, mechanics & other helpers! 🍁

No aurora here in Soulard - just bright lights, a few empty water bottles, big smiles, and kids learning to ride after dark! Every pedal forward is a little victory over fear and a big step toward freedom. Thanks to everyone who helps us keep the glow going!

Your annual reminder to slow down your driving and be extra cautious this weekend. Lots of kids out and about trying to enjoy our neighborhoods and just be kids.

It all began with drawings — simple lines on paper. Each kid had a vision: laying down rainbows, dragons and flames, bikes for icy streets, or ones built to carry special friends. The ideas were wild, colorful, and entirely their own.

We first met #STL teenager Lilah about a year ago, when she registered for one of our four-week-long Learn-To-Ride programs. Like a growing number of American kids, she had not yet had the opportunity to master the skill of riding a bike. "And I didn't have a desire to learn after being injured ..."

It's a great day to launch an Earn-A-Bike class at SLPS's Oak Hill Elementary!

As we reach more kids where they live, play & go to school, it's becoming more common for a student to bike home at the end of Day 6, following a joyous graduation ride. This was true for two of our students in U. City last night, who had parents & sibs greet them on their own bikes at dismissal. 😎

We obviously need traffic calming barriers in our alleyway to protect the building from alley repaving equipment…..

Yesterday's activities had our team out and about, rolling to Benton Park for an Earn-A-Bike graduation with one great group and another crew kicking off a course at Millar Park! Meanwhile, intrepid Earn-A-Computer grads took home machines!

Looking back on the past week, we're feeling especially grateful for shade & water! Thanks to those good things & a dedicated crew of staff & volunteers, the heat didn't keep us from running classes in locations ranging from U. City to Granite City. We also had 26 riders of all ages join our 1/2

Supporting a request for 95 feet of the new Tower Grove Connector We ask you to consider the current construction underway adding a bike trail along Tower Grove Avenue. Less than two miles of infrastructure is costing $18 million.
