This is a must read! The story can be a movie plot that debunks the awful cliche that soldiers are all the same, forced by a faceless state to kill each other for nothing. We see here that the moral chasm between invader and invaded remains even when fate forces them to get to know each other.

Canada announces plans to ban crypto ATMs in the spring Economic update. This is a good step in making our financial system more resilient to illicit finance risks. There is no good use case for crypto ATMs (unless you’re a criminal).

Blame the invention of margarine. Almost singlehandedly responsible for the near-extinction of whales. The 1920s/30s saw a boom in whaling on a new, industrial scale. Almost 90% of all Blue/Fin Whales were killed between 1925 and 1939. 55,000 in 1937 alone. WW2 quite literally saved the species.
