i haven’t watched the video that respawned all of this discourse and i’m not going to because i’m sure it’s not great, so i’m not defending that. but i do feel like there’s a genuine conversation to be had about toxicity here that’s getting buried under someone being bad at math

i just want to say that being elitist about full odds is not a stupid hypothetical, i have seen and i continue to see this sort of behavior from my fellow full odds hunters sometimes, to the extent that i have unfollowed people over it before. it’s not an issue that doesn’t exist.

i know that the discourse is (hopefully) dying down, but i’d like to add my two-cents nonetheless. is there some full odds elitism in the community: yes i have experienced it firsthand do i think there’s a cabal lurking to discredit every method shiny: of course not is this whole thing dumb? YES

I think the comments on the full odds elitism video upset me the most. It seems like a lot of people are hurt or felt left out of shiny hunting as a hobby because of perceived inaccessibility. People see multi system hunts and assume they’re left out.
