Playing around with the Game Boy Camera with the Super Game Boy. When this thing was new I didn't quite get the appeal as it's a crappy digital camera, and yet that is exactly the appeal.

For the 202X logo I did a ton of variations with ink on newsprint. Bonus Vectrex header since those were stuffed in with the 202X attempts.

I've been ignoring all these Nintendo controller releases for Switch Online but decided to buy a slightly used N64 pad for Star Fox. I'm pretty impressed with this thing. I've been playing lots of Wave Race with it and it feels so good. Great buttons, stick seems like it'll last, great rumble.

The infamous Foot Holder chasm from Ice Man's stage. A sequence that's essentially broken due to a glitch where Mega Man can take damage from a Foot Holder while on top of one causing him to fall. Couple that with their random movements and you're in for a headache. Bring the magnet beam.

The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls running on Super Game Boy 2. I just finished this the other day. I really enjoyed it. It's written by Yoshio Sakamoto (Metroid, Tomodachi) with music by Kazumi Totaka (K.K. Slider himself) so it certainly feels like a classic Nintendo game.

TMNT 1990 movie illustration. I made this for the back cover of Hand-Drawn Gaming #5 and kept it pretty simple since it was created with the idea of dropping text over it.

Cover I made for the mini game guide to Cathedral for Premium Edition games. I wanted to make something that felt like original Dragon Warrior material. This is an extremely tough game, and I found that getting money and banking money was a key part of the experience, so I thought this was fitting.

I've been having fun building a new collection of Game Reflections illustrations. I don't know if these would lead to a 202X Vol. 2, since that was never the intention to begin with, I just like having a trail of memories. Here's a thread of all the ones I've posted so far.

I have slowly been playing the Japanese version of Goemon's Great Adventure using Google translate. Nearly finished the game. The music on these castle stages rules.

Donkey Kong Country 2's map design is exceptionally elegant in that it uses each of the game's 13 level themes exactly thrice each, without using any of them more than twice in a row. This is accomplished via several clever uses of the environment.

This dungeon took two mules out of me. Feeling both the dungeon and the mules. Beautiful night though.

Here's a neat Metal Gear Solid 4 relic I hung onto from E3 2005. This oversized brochure is really celebrating the establishment of Kojima Productions, but what's of interest to me is Raiden holding baby Sunny. A very different version of MGS4 at that point.

Illustration I put together for @hagensalley.bsky.social's Metroidvania Chronicles book a few years ago. I've always loved Kinu Nishimura's work, especially her old Capcom collages, so I thought bringing together all of these characters from the genre in a collage would be a fun approach.
