Kero Blaster rules. I had been curious about this game for a long while and seeing that it's currently 3 bucks on Switch I decided to try it. Surprisingly fun story and lots of great blasting. Cool bosses and music. And more game here than you'd think. Worth a look!

Early concept for AVGN 8-Bit. It's not too far off from the final cover. I miss the snake a lot, but we needed to keep elements separate to move around for all of the different formats. I had him looking a little closer to modern James here. We made him look more heroic as well.

In MM1, there some odd pixels where you can wiggle and various effects happen, notably credits warp with super specific setups. Most often the game just resets but you can get lots of different things to spawn in, like one of my favorites, the Yellow Devil. Make a savestate and see what you can get.

According to Wikipedia, today is the 20th anniversary of The 1UP Show. I choose to believe this is true. I miss this work. More, I miss my old coworkers. Still the best and most fun job I ever had. I’ll let Jane and Eric’s killer tune race through my mind today.

Ive been playing Phantasy Star 4 for the first time and I like it but so far my biggest issue is that the names of all these spells are horrible and I have no idea what any of them mean.

They're from this book about 100 ways to enjoy Mario Paint. It's a really interesting guide compared to the official US one. Whereas that guide is way more beginner friendly this one goes extremely deep with unique ways to get the most out of Mario Paint.

Songs composed by Tsukasa Masuko (known for Shin Megami Tensei music) for Mario Paint that I found in an old MP guide book from Japan.

Been playing Wanderers from Ys III here and there. I absolutely hated this game as a kid but wanted to come back to it after playing Ys Book I & II a year ago. I've come around to it now that I realize this game is basically side scrolling bump combat.

Played through Simon's Quest. Only needed to cheat once! The ending section is rad. I love the empty castle leading up to Dracula's resurrection. I even like that he's a push over because it makes Simon feel like he's the one in control. Its a big victory lap for a tough game.

I feel like a lot is riding on this one. I don't want to say S2 has completely lost momentum (especially as it's about to hit its first holiday season) but it's starting to feel that way. Nailing dates for their known line up should be the key part of their messaging.

Downloaded Gimmick! for Switch and ended up using my own guide for tips on how to get some of the treasures. I was horrible at this... When I made this issue I was getting really good at this game. Lost it all! Anyway it and Gimmick 2 are like 5 bucks each right now.

Finished Death Stranding 2 last night. Absolutely loved it. Those final few hours were fantastic. From a pure game play stand point it's probably one of the best games to come from Kojima. His unique story telling and vision also still a huge part of the experience.

My daughter has been playing Lunar on Switch. So I took out the original PS1 version to show her how cool they packaged this and I was impressed again all these years later. Watching her play I've realized I don't remember much about it at all but I remember this set!

Slowed up a little but 150 finished. Bagged and sealed with love. Trying really hard to not have any repeats but it's getting tough the deeper I get into this.

Just wanted to thank the people that picked up a copy of 202X: Video Game Reflections when they finalized their HDGG: Mega Man order. I'll be sure to stuff each copy with a bookmark & and extra sticker from my left over stash when I ship them off to NF for fulfillment!

What a treat to get to see this again on the big screen. We had a good crowd with a lot of families and it was nice to hear kids laughing at all the jokes I laughed at back then.

Wrapped up DK Bananza this morning and that final hour+ was incredible. Handing out fan moments wrapped up in all of the games systems all clicking together. Loved it. And there is so much more to do!

I watched War of the Worlds. Its almost like a whole movie worth of Sega CD cutscenes. I couldn't quite figure out if the movie was self aware but either way I had a blast with how ridiculous it was.

On vacation this week & I always enjoy bringing a Game Boy game along for old times sake. Played through Mario Land 2 which I adore. Actually bought Gremlins 2 at a local comic store out here. It's not great but I save stated my way through the end which would have ruined kid me.

Played through Dynowarz (NES) today, a game that sounds much cooler than it is. It splits between some difficult single screen platforming as a little human and then side scrolling action stages as a giant Dino. None of it comes together and then it just kind of ends.

Starting the process of packing HDGG Mega Man Backer rewards. I ended up having fun solving this one. I was wondering how I should pack the original art pieces. Decided to sleeve them backed with heavy stock paper. Then turned it into a stamped, sealed, and signed certificate!

My hot take is that Mario Paint is the best showcase of the Switch 2's built in mouse feature. Should have been there day one.

Here's a cool adventure & rpg strategy guide I picked up recently. It compiles a handful of popular PC games from the time. I love the variety in it. The usual stuff like maps and cool art but also lots of behind the scenes and interviews included (which I of course can't read).
