Well the weekend didn’t go as planned. While riding the Easter Arrow (a 400km Audax event to York) I hit a pot hole in the dark 230km in and went down hard. It took my team mates half an hour to get the bike useable again and we rode the next 170km, but I am pretty beat up. Rest for me for now.

Something different for #parkrun this morning. Volunteering at our local, Harlow. Never volunteered before. Looking forward to it.

All done 10 1/2hrs elapsed, with 4 stops. Macca’s, co-op, paddle at Dunwich 🥶🥶 and Subway. Now on the way home. Caught out by the sun and warm weather I’m pretty dehydrated. You’d think I’d know better 🤦‍♂️

Change of plan this morning after sitting on the M11 for over half an hour. Instead of the new Watford #parkrun we went back to Gunpowder park. Not nearly as quick as a year ago but my quickest of 2026 by a minute.

So results are in from Valentines #parkrun this morning. There was 2331 of us. I finished 1334. One of the high lights was getting to meet Dame Kelly Holmes. What a legend. Thanks again to all the Amazing Marshals and Volunteers.

Of course I went to Valentines #parkrun on Valentine’s Day. Heaving…. Queued for 20mins to get into the finishers funnel. Great atmosphere though. Marshals and volunteers were amazing. Didn’t manage to find my daughter a BF… maybe next time 🤣🤣

Nice run at Maldon Prom #parkrun this morning with my daughter. We both put in 2026 PB’s despite the mud. Lucky with the weather as well.

Slippery slidey XC #parkrun at Gadebridge this morning. Nice course but it was quite hilly and soooo muddy.. I was just happy to not stack it or slide down a hill. My 60th and another Hert’s parkrun ticked off. As always great Marshalls and volunteers 👏👏

Back to #parkrun on Saturday to complete my 60th. Planning a trip to Gadebridge to tick off another Herts run and to finish our BeeGee’s challenge on the 5k app. Weathers not looking great though. Where is everyone else planning to run ?

Great time at Bushy #parkrun this morning to kick off 2026. What a beautiful park. Nice and flat and despite 1185 runners it never felt cramped. Despite this cough that won’t go away I got sub 32:00 which I was pleased with. Maybe time for the Dr’s 😒. Now where to go on Saturday 🧐

Ok decision made. It’s time…… Tomorrow we make the #parkrun pilgrimage to Bushy Park. Hopefully it won’t be quite as busy as Christmas Day (2800 runners 😬). My biggest parkrun to-date was York at Easter, 870 runners

Spent the day in Cambridge bike spotting yesterday while the family went shopping. Loved the classic Peugeot (23c tyres 😬). Have my eye on a Argos mini velo, and am inspired to get my elops Fixie out the shed for commuting.

So that’s 2025 done for me with yesterdays 200km Audax. I was going to ride another 100km for the festive 500 but this cough will just not go away. So 3 days off before New Year’s day parkrun. Thanks for all your support this year. Here’s to 2026

Stanborough #parkrun done. My 21st of 2025, my 56th parkrun in total and my 30th different location. Full trail today, not a massive turnout but a lovely park. luckily it was so cold the ground was frozen so it wasn’t too muddy.

Christmas Day #parkrun ✅ Great atmosphere but it was heaving I queued for 5mins to get into the finishers funnel. Massive kudos to all the volunteers for giving up thier Xmas morning so we can run. And now we eat….

Kick starting the Festive 500km tomorrow with a Christmas Eve 200km Audax, this should also finish off my 2nd AAA (hilly) RRtY (Randonneur Round the year /200km a month for 12months).

Yesterday’s solo 200km was hard. Legs said yes but chest still says no. So slow. So much dark. Still some positives, great lunch with ACME club mates at Maglia Rosso before it closes at Christmas. RRtY no 11 ✅ 25 new tiles ✅ increased my Eddington no to 129✅ no rain✅

#parkrun 54 in the bag at the brand new ARU Writtle for their 2nd ever run. Absolute carnage, big turnout (nearly 400) for a very narrow out and back twice course. Pleased with my time though as I haven’t got over this cough yet.

Audax Club Mid Essex does Coldham’s Common #parkrun @geospizafortis.bsky.social, Gav, Amber and I were on card stamping duties on the Stansted AirPort Express @audaxuk.bsky.social today so we meet to parkrun first. A lovely day with almost 70 riders completing the 100km route

Great weekend. Saturday I Chichester Uni with my daughter followed by the ACME @audaxuk.bsky.social awards evening where I picked up 3 awards, we even had a visitor from Scotland. Yesterday a solo DIY 200km tile bagging Audax. Wet to start but it ended up a nice day and I gained 59 new squares.

Been quiet on here for a few weeks, since the @audaxuk.bsky.social year ended. I’m not sure I’ll ever do 200 points again. So after 2 weeks off I was back at it this weekend with 2x200’s a solo hill fest on Saturday and a social flatish 200 with @geospizafortis.bsky.social

Nant Y Pandy #parkrun was beautiful but due to flooding and a course change, hilly 😳 Although maybe riding 1000km last week also contributed to the slow time.

A massive 12 months of @audaxuk.bsky.social Finished off yesterday with another 50km to round me up to 200 points. Or 20,000km of Audax’s since the 1st of November. Hopefully it’s enough to win me the national points championship. Now for a bit of a break

only 16 days left of the Audax year so I decided to try and get my head back round commuting, rather than making every ride about points. So I rode to work in civvys. I can’t remember the last time I rode in anything other than Lycra The exception was my onelesscar cap and some shoes with cleats on

Had a very enjoyable day out riding a 200km @audaxuk.bsky.social calendar ride in Yorkshire on Wednesday. Route through the moors was stunning, but some of the hills 😬😬
