The worst part of the giant ice/snow storm passed us by and went South. I think my brother got it worse in Dallas. We ended with very minimal ice and about 4-5 inches of snow with some drifts. The main issue here is how cold it is. We won't get above freezing again until maybe Tuesday.

We are sitting at 0 degrees F and that is super cold for any part of Texas. usually our coldest temperatures are in the teens. Two of my feral cats I feed and their two kittens made it through the night. (I can't catch them or they would be in the garage.)

Tomorrow we get hit with the snowpocalypse. It's supposed to be as bad as 2021. Ugh. I hope not. I got groceries for everyone today and winterized both houses as best as I could. Hopefully the electricity stays on and no one's water freezes.

I dyed my hair last night for the first time in a couple of years. I was aiming for platinum blond and I got a weird shade of light gray. I'm not sure what I think of it. I like having a color around my face...but gray? It was solid old lady white before I dyed it. I do like it better than that.

Man, I started the day with a migraine which is never fun. Then one of my inside cats escaped into the world and I had to track his ass down. (He is back inside and safe.) My headache was getting better then I saw the news and now it is just as bad as when it woke me up. UGH.

Today is a beautiful day by any measure. It is sunny, just a little wind and about 82. But that is way way abnormal for late December even in Texas. Even for Austin, much less here in Amarillo. We had to turn the AC on. O.o I'm still going to enjoy the lovely day....but damn.

The Christmasing has started and I have one window decorated. I know it's late, but 2025 has been terrible. My goal is to get the trees up by Christmas eve and I think I will make that. I have to do two, one at home and one at my Dad's house. They are going to stay up for most of January too.

I am annoyed that there is not a Winterveil tree available from any of the holiday vendors. Why not? I love that people are super creative and making their own versions, but how about something for those of us who are mid at best when it comes to decorating? I still want holiday joy in my WoW home.

In WoW, I finally figured out how to get some glowy decor I sunk too far into the ground out yesterday. So my yard no longer has a permanent awkward glowy spot. If this is you, hit decor and then advanced. You will get a button that lists everything you have placed in and out of your house.

My deep red town in Texas had a decent No Kings turnout. Only one TV station covered it, but it did happen. Not as amazing as other places. But even here people are protesting. It's nice to see I'm not the only person here who sees through the bullshit.
