Shout out to the home of my monthly column,
@newscientist.com
, which nailed their headline about the genetically modified GREY wolves

loading . . .
No, the dire wolf has not been brought back from extinction
Colossal Biosciences claims three pups born recently are dire wolves, but they are actually grey wolves with genetic edits intended to make them resemble the lost species

Iām just saying that audiobooks are brilliant. You can listen while doing almost anything. House cleaning? Audiobook. Exercising? Audiobook? Sleeping? Old favourite audiobook. Driving, travelling, waiting? Audiobook. Best thing ever.

Any time you hear somebody recounting a history and they say something like āand we didn't really hear much from [insert civilization herel for the next hundred years" you can be sure that was probably the best time to live there

Walking paths untrodden, my favourite cartoonist passed away yesterday. It seems a sad first post for a new platform, but your art will always be treasured. Vale Michael Leunig.

At the age of 3, I learned to read and my parents never grumbled whenever I asked them to buy books for me. Today, I have a personal library running into the thousands. It says a lot about our society that owning dozens of sneakers/shoes is considered cool but amassing books has to be defended. š¦

I feel mislead by all dystopian literature. It's supposed to be a powerful authoritarian government that lords over a cowering population, and and we just need need a few brave acts of heroism to give the people the courage to rise up. Instead it's just half the country being dumb and mean.
