Something I just discovered- Tamiya acrylic thinner will gently and cleanly remove stray 5 minute epoxy from painted and top coated surfaces. Granted, it had only cured for about six hours, but it was still a nice surprise.

Piles of parts in 4.5 shades of gray (and a bit of Silver Leaf but that makes things look way too metal). My hand engraving on the torch housing looks pretty good. Flat top coat next week. Then another week of cool off before assembly. "Another day, another decade..."

Happy 50th anniversary to the F40PH locomotive, my favorite locomotive class. This is a picture I took in 2019 of ACE 3106, the very last F40PH (technically an F40PH-3C) ever built, and my all time favorite locomotive.

Building this equipment has been fun, challenging, but fun. Still a long way to go.

I'm so disappointed that the 40th anniversary of Highlander is getting next to no fanfare. One of the greatest films ever made.

Finished up today, this is the first power on.

Playfield totally stripped and ready for cleaning, detailing, and pin adjustment before reassembly - everything else has been restored. I usually don't do a lot of pinsetting but this one has a ton of pins bent out of orientation, probably by someone who didn't understand pachinko physics.

Multi reel assembly fully serviced and rebuilt.

This thing is like rebuilding a modern pachinko machine + overhauling the reel assembly of three pachislo machines. 🙃 Dunno of it's better or worse than the complex animatronics of other contemporary machines.

Time to finally get around to rebuilding this cell. One of the more unique cells for the Lumina frame.

I should keep my expectations in check but I can't help it - this is going to be great. It's set 10 years in the future, just like the original. A few characters look based on those from the Reboot short. AI as a factor in the labor tech of the day. And it looks like there's a third SV2 division.

I've decided to apply to host Vintage Anime - Name That Year! once again at FanimeCon. I was thinking of hanging it up but I'm looking at next year as the final year. (If we're accepted of course) Other panels I was thinking of in addition won't be developed enough in time, but underway for 2027.

Coming up on a year since I rebuilt this one. It has been absolutely rock solid. Although I still can't wrap my head around some of the wiring harness logic, particularly the signal lines for the speakers, which seem to pass through the power supply before the game logic board.
