While I was annoyed about the scale stuff yesterday, I’m just not gonna worry about it I like my marines, on the I’ve come up with my best attempt at black yet. I never liked this highlight but it’s good at making super dark shadows look less flat and boring #warhammer40k

A tip for simple nmm on complex areas, base it in English grey, do a rhinox hide wash and black wash. Reapply grey leaving some brown, add some ivory to the grey for another highlight and edge highlight, then a final edge highlight in pure ivory with some scratches and rust to sell the worn effect

Another poor financial decision has led me to picking up some cultist to go with my corsairs. This is probably one of my favorite 40k model sculpts, I really like the models that have augments and prosthetics beyond the monocle thing #warhammer40k #miniaturepainting

Did a super simple nmm mace. German, ash and English grey, then I edge highlighted everything with an English grey/ivory mix. I glazed some turquoise words the light source for the quick osl. #warhammer40k #miniaturepainting

Well I managed to binge watch 90% of Ponies while assembling cause it took way longer than expected but I also got done a Titus and some other marines

It’s 8 am and I got a ton of stuff to do, assemble wardens of ultramar, 2 chaos lords, a venom crawler, a Sister and maybe finish assembly on a leviathan dreadnaught. Hopefully finishing up a terminator, priming the wardens and starting the test sister model….an I haven’t touched a KDM model in days

I have that insatiable desire to tweak my corsairs over the weekend, try a new black armor recipe, figure out trim, glaze more purple into the shadows but I also have a shadow hunt box waiting for me.. I kind of want to paint some sisters now

I’ve finished my first havok and it was rough. I kind of hate these, I had a ton of complication with assembly. I’m also still struggling to figure out the best way to paint black trim, I keep pushing too much words grey. I’m also rebasing what I’ve finished #warhammer40k #’miniaturepainting

Way easier than I expected. Air brushed fluro yellow over white. Sponged over all of it with deep orange, then glazed bloody red outwards adding in some black to outer most parts and some black edge highlights. Pretty well g as you can glaze to smooth things #warhammer40k #miniaturepainting

The red receptor is just a purple base, white ink, scarlet blood(vgc), dead read(Ak) and scarlet blood again. The last 2 steps aren’t necessary but they help bring up the saturation. It’s way more noticeable when other areas are painted so this shoulder pad isn’t a great example
