It was a real pleasure to join #kidicalmasshfx for a fantastic bike ride through Halifax’s West End today. So many happy kids experiencing the joy and freedom that comes with pedalling your two wheels. #BikeHfx

Here’s the “elephant in the room” with the outstanding (and FAST) growth in urban biking here in Paris — the tension between 2 NATURAL ALLIES, people on bikes and people walking, needs work, lest it become a political wedge issue. City Hall reminds everyone that pedestrians have priority EVERYWHERE.

Halifax should be on this list. We need to accelerate our progress, not slow it down or stop it altogether!

You can see the values of the Scottish Parliament manifest in the building itself: Stewardship; Inclusiveness; Excellence; and Respect. The seating plan reduces “oppositional” attitudes; there’s a childcare centre, baby-changing area, buggy storage; and amazing artwork.

Day eight (last day) of our West Highland Way hike - 24km from Kinlochleven to Fort William. Some of the most spectacular views of the trip.

Day seven of our West Highland Way hike: Kingshouse to Kinlochleven (15km). Ascended the Devil’s Staircase - the highest point along the WHW.

Day six on our West Highland Way hike - 19km from Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe. Sun tried to make an appearance this morning but drizzle won the day.

Day five of our West Highland Way hike: a short 11km from Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy.

Day four on our West Highland Way hike: Ardlui to Tyndrum - 23km.

Day three of our West Highland Way hike: Rowardennan to Ardlui. Mostly overcast, a fair bit of rain, and a smidge of sun (for a short time). About 20km, a lot of up & down by Loch Lomond.

Day two of the West Highland Way: hiked from Drymen to Conic Hill to Balmaha to Rowardennan - 24km, ascending 460m, descending 489m. It was sunny; rain and wind; sunny; rain; sunny!!

Lots of sheep, cows, ponies, cafes, and cute cottages along the West Highland Way.

Left Milngavie this morning. Walked almost 20km to Drymen. Leg one of our West Highland Way adventure is done.
