I'm 34 pages away from finishing revisions in this MS, and right now I'm on this whole new chapter I added in the last round, and as I read the first paragraphs I realized that I needed to spend more time thinking about it, than working on it. And that sums up my revisions process.

I have a Halloween story that is not a Halloween story standing on 13k words. That's my favorite from the collection. I started it on 2020 in a trip to NY and finished it this year after I got struck by the lightning of my own genius.

I'm about to hit a point where for the first time in my life I'll have two full length manuscripts ready for submissions or queries and I don't know what to do with them. I'm talking about the first and the last manuscripts I wrote, one at 23 and the other at 35.

I see a lot of people following me here that I've never met on Twitter. There's something you guys need to know about me, I am not a humble person. Lol. I'm not the type of person who says "thank you" when someone pays them a compliment. I'm the one who says "I know."

People out there are missing on my genius. I'm very sorry for them.

Anyway, as I get closer to the end of this manuscript I'm realizing that it doesn't need as many changes as it did in the beginning (the first two chapters put me against the wall) which is very on brand with me.

I'm just a guy with the best taste in literature.

And you might be wondering why doesn't he just pick up a song and end with his suffering? Well, let me tell you. I don't know. I just know that I need the song to come to me on its own, it has to be an act of complete spontaneity for it to work the way it's supposed to work.

I find it so funny that people go to writing residencies to be alone, like, bro that's what your bedroom at home is for. Lol.

I read somewhere that it only takes five minutes to fully engage in an activity you're going to work on for the entire day. And this is very true when it comes to writing.

So fucked up that I had to cut short my reading challenges due to the lack of time. Like, I only have time for reading or writing, and, fuck me, writing comes first all the time.

That feeling when you just want to stay up all night reading one of your favorite books.

We never talk about the things Stephen King does in Wolves of the Calla. I mean, the guy was out there playing with a solid plot, narrative structure and POV. The motherfucker took a character from another book and made it word, gave him a redemption arc and everything. He was in his bag.
