Re digital ids, people dont tend to carry ID documents on them daily, but most do carry phones. Highly valuable phones, and even more so when it contains valuable ID etc. Very stealable. Phones that can already be hacked, data centres who get hacks or sell on your information to the highest bidder.

The fascists want to break down social media, because of the group power that has been the result of communities gathering, disabled, neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, minority groups sharing information and organising to gain rights. They want to take that away again and make us vulnerable through isolation.

Those telling others to leave other social sites are showing their privilege and ignoring a major issue. For some, those isolated due to circumstance, disability etc, depend on these sites for community, information and support. To delete the site would erase those connections and isolate.

I want to stay aware and informed, but social media and media in general has become so toxic its detrimental to my mental and physical health. Where is the balance, is it even possible??
