We made progress on BlockNote, improved the experience around comments and annotations, shipped updates across XWiki Cloud, Pro Applications, and CryptPad, and worked on our MCP server extension. Some of these changes are user-facing improvements you’ll notice right away. Others happen behind the scenes to make XWiki more stable and easier to maintain. Here’s what changed and what we’re working on next. One of the biggest additions is **real-time collaboration** , powered by **Yjs**. After installing the BlockNote extension, multiple people can work on the same page simultaneously. We also expanded the editing capabilities. **Editing image properties, changing the image source, and uploading new image attachments** are all supported through the image wizard already used by the CKEditor integration. Working with macros is easier as well. The existing macro wizard from the CKEditor integration now powers macro editing in BlockNote. As a result, **updating macro parameters or replacing an existing macro is much more straightforward** and consistent with the rest of XWiki. There are still a few rough edges. Some elements are not yet fully rendered during editing, inserting new macros isn't supported yet, and a few collaboration limitations remain. We'll continue refining the experience over the coming months as we move closer to making BlockNote the default editor in XWiki. 💡 Install the BlockNote extension, try editing a page with your team, and let us know what you think. ### **#2 Comments, annotations, and attachments UI improvements** The comments and annotations experience has been refreshed **to make discussions easier to follow and interactions more intuitive**. The new design puts more **focus on the available actions, making comment-related buttons easier to find and use**. **Discussion threads are now collapsible** , helping keep pages cleaner while still allowing users to dive into conversations when needed. We also improved the feedback provided when adding attachments. **A successful attachment upload is now confirmed with a green message**. 💡 Try out the updated comments and annotations interface and share your feedback with us. ### **#3 Focus on security** Security was a major focus in the past quarter. Following several reported security issues, we identified and addressed vulnerabilities to make XWiki safer and more reliable for users. We will continue monitoring and addressing security issues as they arise. 💡 Upgrade your XWiki instance to the latest LTS to benefit from the latest security improvements. ### **What’s next** We’ll continue improving the BlockNote experience by adding missing editing capabilities and addressing current limitations as we move closer to making it the default editor. At the same time, we’ll continue our focus on security improvements to keep XWiki reliable and safe. ## **XWiki Cloud** * * * ### **#1 XWiki Cloud upgraded to 17.10.8** This upgrade brings the latest XWiki improvements and fixes to cloud instances, **including localization improvements, better Windows deployment support, and security updates**. ### **#2 Behind-the-scenes improvements** In the past quarter, we also delivered several improvements to the XWiki Cloud platform to make it more reliable and easier to maintain. These updates include improvements to **email delivery, log collection processes, and security-related components**. While mostly happening behind the scenes, these changes help us identify issues faster and continue improving the overall cloud experience. ### **#3 XNNG improvements** The XNNG updates delivered in Q2 focused on maintenance improvements and ease of use for customers. Among these usability updates, we added a **warning to let users know when discounts aren't available for recurring PayPal payments**. This is due to a limitation on PayPal's side. These changes contribute to a better user experience by bringing new or improved features and increased stability to XWiki Cloud customers. ## **Pro Applications** * * * **TL;DR** * Confluence Migrator (Pro) received improvements to make migrations more accurate and reliable. * Pro Applications were enhanced with better browser compatibility, improved macros, smoother task management, and a more reliable OpenProject integration. ### **#1 Confluence Migrator (Pro)** The latest updates to Confluence Migrator (Pro) focused on a better migration experience. **Improvements were made to Group, Calendar, and Task imports** , as well as to the **batch migration** functionality. 💡 Update to the latest version of Confluence Migrator (Pro) and let us know what you think. 👉 Share your feedback with us on the Store or on GitHub. ### **#2 URL Shortener Application (Pro)** The URL Shortener Application (Pro) received**improved compatibility with the Safari browser**. This update makes the application more reliable for macOS users and resolves issues encountered when copying shortened links in Safari. 💡 If you had trouble using the app in Safari, update to the latest version and let us know if you still encounter any issues. 👉 Share your feedback with us on the Store or on GitHub. ### **#3 Pro Macros** Pro Macros received several reliability improvements, including **better compatibility for the View File macro with PPTX files** and**improvements to the Contributors macro**. These updates improve the overall reliability of the extension and provide a smoother experience for content creators and regular users. 💡 Try out the latest version of Pro Macros. 👉 Share your feedback with us on the Store or on GitHub. ### **#4 Task Manager Application (Pro)** The latest Task Manager Application (Pro) updates **improved the Gantt diagram macro, the Kanban board, and the way tasks are displayed**. These changes make it easier for users to view and manage tasks more reliably across the application. 👉 Let us know what you think about the latest version of this Pro App on the Store or on GitHub. ### **#5 OpenProject Integration (Pro)** Starting with version 1.1.0, the OpenProject Integration (Pro) received improvements to make the OpenProject macro more reliable. Users can now work more consistently with available parameters and filters, and single work packages can also be displayed directly in XWiki. These updates improve the reliability of the integration and make it easier to connect XWiki with OpenProject workflows. 💡 Install OpenProject Integration (Pro), test it, and share your feedback on encountered issues through the Store form or in the GitHub repository. 📹 Last quarter we hosted a live webinar, where our teams from XWiki and OpenProject showed how to move away from Atlassian Confluence and Jira Data Center to an open-source stack you fully control. ## **AI development** * * * In Q2, we continued improving the XWiki MCP server by making it easier to set up and use, while also focusing on token efficiency and response accuracy. A new version of the MCP server is coming soon and it will remove the dependency on the LLM Application. It will **allow users to manipulate pages and their content directly through their preferred AI agent**. To make adoption easier, we'll release tutorials for how to connect the XWiki MCP server to some of the more popular AI agents on the market. 💡 Sign up here if you'd like to be notified when the MCP server extension is available for testing. 👉 We're also interested in what AI feature you want to see next, so if you want to share your thoughts, you can book a short, 20-min call. ### **What's next** Looking ahead, we plan to improve the MCP server’s ability to work with structured data, including allowing AI agents to fill App Within Minutes with data through prompts. ## **CryptPad** * * * ### **#1 Security fixes and our new security policy** In Q2, the CryptPad team released security fixes addressing 2 reported vulnerabilities. We also published a dedicated blog post to explain these security vulnerabilities and present the measures we took to address them. These fixes are part of our ongoing effort to keep CryptPad secure and transparent about the improvements we make. ### **#2 Spring release** In the previous quarter, we also launched the CryptPad Spring 2026 release (2026.5.0) with some improvements to the Diagram app along with other fixes. The Diagram app now uses**Drawio 29** and introduces the **Sketch** theme as the default experience. It provides a simple, infinite canvas for brainstorming, mind maps, and freehand drawing. For more flexibility, we've also added a **new theme switcher**. Users can switch between a simplified canvas and more advanced diagramming tools depending on their needs. The Spring version also includes numerous fixes and improvements across CryptPad.
