Interannual variability of ocean uptake of carbon dioxide is governed by winter sea ice cover, according to analysis of carbonate chemistry observations along the West Antarctic Peninsula.

New paper on ocean mercury cycling! 🌊🧪 Mercury is toxic to marine life 🪱🐟🐋 and accumulates up the food chain. We find mercury is efficiently buried in shallow shelf environments, with implications for the impact of mercury in seawater globally. Read more here:
