Here's an oldie for the mascot files. The original "Jack" costume from Jack-In-The-Box restaurants. Not a great pic of him, but it does have the famed "Keeling and Clayton" Pinto funny car in it, so that's okay. Approx 1972/73. That suit had to be awful to wear....(plus I hate clowns)

I visited the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City yesterday. It was nothing short of amazing. I've been to the National Galleries in Washington and London, and the Louvre, but I was never able to get closer to a genuine Rembrandt than I did yesterday. (literally inches) Worth the trip!

This is actually a great question for all. What movie did you watch too young? " The Brain That Wouldn't Die" I think I was about six years old when I saw this on tv. I was intensely disturbed by the lady's disembodied head in the tray of blood. I didn't watch monster movies for years afterward.

Tonight's CD flashback is Steve Forbert's "The American In Me". Til this album, I only knew Forbert's music from his hit song "Romeo's Tune" from 10 yrs prior, but a local radio station played this album on my way home one night, and I had to have it. Been a total fan ever since.

Wolever's recent post from the famed "Wigwam Motel" in Holbrook AZ, got me to thinking of the cover of my favorite Steve Forbert cd.

Flashback to two years ago. Sadly, this would turn out to be the last Costume-Con, (at least for now) , but we went out big! We won "Best Presentation-Master Division", and I can definitely say I've never had more fun on stage dancing with a giant chicken!

From the "Unappreciated Mascot Files": Robin's Donuts "Robbie the Robin" While I have fond memories of being a different robin mascot for a few years, I still like Robbie better. He has a more huggable, approachable look about him. I have a plush version in my collection.

How's THIS for an 80s flashback? I actually spent money to see "Megaforce" in the theater. (and I'm still sorry about it) The cars were cool at least. I had completely forgotten I ever had this "Megacruiser" kit. It's by Bandai, and it's about 1/16 scale. I really should build it one of these days.

I don't drink, can't stand fiddle and drum music, and I actually like snakes. Also, I'm not even one percent Irish. So Happy Tuesday! 😆

So far the Olympic closing ceremonies are appropriately impressive. Amazing costumes.
