Good. "But DHS isn't just ICE, it's also..." nope, wrong. DHS no longer serves any useful functions, the whole thing has been reassigned to repression. FEMA isn't even paying out to states. All DHS does is shooting, teargassing, facial recognition, and administrative warrants. Shut it down.

Thank you to everyone in CA including the elected officials and voters who successfully accomplished mid-decade redistricting to swiftly counter the attempted theft by Texas. Action and tangible results are so much better than gripes and strongly worded letters.

Charlie Jane joyfully talked about a huge range of books for WaPo, and now yet another outlet celebrating diversity and curiosity in fiction is lost. Definitely sub to her newsletter, because it's a great read every time.

Ultimately we've got to prosecute agents and officials who committed crimes, and we've got to dismantle DHS entirely and start over. But as a list of demands to reduce harm now? This is surprisingly good from Dem leadership. One big missing thing I don't see in this letter: funding levels?
