In 19th C Exeter, Guy Fawkes Day was a major occasion. The festivities centred on a huge bonfire in front of the Cathedral 🔥 During this fiery festival it was traditional to allow the youth special freedom to celebrate. Fireworks, burning tar barrels & injuries were a feature of this riotous night.
