The sudden and illegal elimination of all US aid personnel worldwide immediately reduces US soft power. It makes Americans less secure, everywhere. Economists have shown that pro- and anti-American attitudes are directly shaped by aid given in time of need.

Modern supply chains don't look like trade theory 101! They involve constant border crossings, each now hit by tariffs. Tariffs raise prices, but the more important thing they do is disrupt supply relationships. 1/

Hi #Econsky, can anyone suggest a paper w/ a graphical analysis of a case w/ offsetting treatment and selection effects? (Eg, school meals -->different set of students present on test day; training-->different set of workers with observed wages?) Lee (2009) does not have a graphical analys afaik.
