These orphaned Virginia opossums are learning to eat solid foods as they grow. In the wild, opossums are omnivores and play an important role in the ecosystem by eating ticks, snails, and even carrion. But fruit is also on the menu—and clearly, it’s a hit!

Our dog kennels are almost full, and we need your help. Adoption fees are WAIVED for all dogs and puppies through this Friday, March 28. We currently have nearly 200 dogs in our care - including 90 emergency boarding dogs whose families were displaced by the Eaton Fire.

Do you recognize this tortoise? They were found wandering through a burned area in Altadena and were very nearly hit by a car when they were rescued by a vigilant bystander. If you believe this is your missing tortoise (A520366), please come to Pasadena Humane between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Los Angeles County from Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Flash floods increase the risk of mudslides, particularly in areas affected by recent fires. Residents near the Eaton Fire burn zone (Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre) are urged to stay alert.
