These orphaned Virginia opossums are learning to eat solid foods as they grow. In the wild, opossums are omnivores and play an important role in the ecosystem by eating ticks, snails, and even carrion. But fruit is also on the menu—and clearly, it’s a hit!

Our dog kennels are almost full, and we need your help. Adoption fees are WAIVED for all dogs and puppies through this Friday, March 28. We currently have nearly 200 dogs in our care - including 90 emergency boarding dogs whose families were displaced by the Eaton Fire.

Do you recognize this tortoise? They were found wandering through a burned area in Altadena and were very nearly hit by a car when they were rescued by a vigilant bystander. If you believe this is your missing tortoise (A520366), please come to Pasadena Humane between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Los Angeles County from Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Flash floods increase the risk of mudslides, particularly in areas affected by recent fires. Residents near the Eaton Fire burn zone (Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre) are urged to stay alert.

This is Edgar. He was burrowed in a friend's backyard hibernating when the Altadena fire took their home. He was found 2 blocks away a week later & taken to @pasadenahumane.org where they were reunited. Great organization, doing incredible work. ❤️

This sweet dog was found in Altadena the day after the Eaton Fire broke out. He came to us severely dehydrated, with singed fur and burns on his paw pads. We are happy to report that he is doing well and continues to be treated in our ICU by our veterinary team.

Spent earlier this week drawing @ a cat cafe to raise money for the Pasadena Humane Society (they’re still accepting donations!) — pencil chomped 300x, would do again 🐈💯✍️

EVERY time my husband leaves town we find an injured animal. This little guy has been safely delivered to @pasadenahumane.bsky.social which apparently also just got an injured bobcat. Keep those donations rolling in, these folks are doing great work.

Today a member from our shelter veterinary team assisted Pasadena Humane in providing lifesaving care to animals injured in the #EatonFire. We are proud to be part of an incredible collaboration between animal welfare orgs helping animals impacted by the devastating fires in LA
