Canada Post “lost” 1 billion dollars last year? How about, “it cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal service” which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.

Me, writing about robots in distress because their partitioning doesn't work as well as humans deciding not to read the news because it's upsetting. It's not going well. Because my partitioning isn't working. I'm going to still call it fiction.

today marked the end of my expected summer guests...being around longstanding beloveds is a kind of euphoria...and watching them each go back to the States is an uncertainty that breaks my heart. The rain is perfect weather for a good cry.

Preparing myself to explain to the ticket taker at Fringe why I'm a bad parent - I mean, why I'm bringing my kid to a show that explicitly said "NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY, WE MEAN IT" in the blurb. I think I will not be helping my case when I say "look, I showed him Brockmire, how bad can this be?"
