Finding at least one or two of the tiny snails or some other pond-dweller on each old leaf I retrieve from the pond, it's going to be summer until I finish cleaning it. Yes, I threw all of them back in - minus their leaf.

Second week without sweets, alcohol and salty snacks accomplished. Lost two pounds by eating more protein instead, and I went to the gym today. 🏋🏻‍♀️

I got tempted by a bowl of sweets I don't even like on Saturday but managed to cave in. I declare the first week of Lent a success. 😁

Winter returned with more snow.

Lent hasn't quite started yet but I decided to start a bit earlier this year to abstinent from all sorts of sweets, alcohol and salty snacks like crisps until Easter. 🐰🌷 Anyone who wants to join, please give me a shout.

A rat took up residence in my house, and eventually in the kitchen. She managed to hide so well that I never saw her alive. Initially I thought it was a mouse, until I discovered the droppings.😱 She was killed with a trap yesterday, after she evaded me for more than two weeks. 🐭🪓

The joy of writing: waking up around 3:30 for a trip to the bathroom, and the brain decides it's the perfect time to reflect on the last chapter. Got up eventually, edited for half an hour, and earned the right to go back to bed for another two or rather three hours.

Vance is back in Indiana today, personally pressuring GOP lawmakers to ignore their conscience and enact an extreme gerrymandering plan. The fact that they have to send in the VP tells us something important and encouraging: political pressure against this plan is working, even in deep red places.

Planted garlic and a variety of onions and flowers in two of my flowerbeds, watered and mulched everything. Now I can mostly leave it alone until spring.

Sound on, and you can hear the cranes calling to each other while they're spiralling higher before flying southwest.

The next two chapters of my Bookish story are ready for my beta. I know I don't have many readers but I'm happy with the progress and the story.

Harvested the sellerie I grew in my garden. The bucket I put everything inside might not look large but it holds 10 liters of water (or 2,5 gallons, for my friends from the US). There shall be delicious and healthy soup.
