It's taken me 40ish years to pin down why I like reading fiction over non-fiction generally speaking. Non-fiction tends to unburden the reader of the weight of their own thinking.

One of my favorite moments in FF7 is when Cloud falls into the Life Stream. I've long used it as a moment of comparison for other RPGs. "Does this RPG have a moment like that?" Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's entire premise is about how everyone falls into the Life Stream. It's a perfect game.
